What should you wear when flying? Well that all depends on the
circumstances under which you are flying. Business or pleasure?
Obviously, if you are flying down to Atlanta for a professional
presentation and hopping back home on the last flight of the night
you want to dress for the meeting. However, if you are traveling
for a visit, vacation, or a long overseas flight, comfort is going to
be the way to go. Loose comfortable clothing is exactly what the
captain ordered. Most flights by nature are going to be
uncomfortable so do your best to make sure you are relaxed in
what you are wearing.

Now if you are in first, business, or some related class of service
don't get too comfy in what you dress. Many of these classes of
service do have a standard of dress code that should be followed.
It would be in your best interest to "dress up" if you have a ticket
in one of these premium classes of service or are going to be
attempting to make an upgrade. While you can get away with
more now than you could in the past you may draw a stink eye or
two if you come dressed in black socks, crocs, torn jeans, and the
shirt that says: "Two more drinks and I'll fly this plane."

Wear clean socks that are in good repair. TSA requires that all
passengers remove their shoes for screening at check points. You
don't want to be standing there while they wand you down with
your big toe sticking out for all to see.

Last but definitely not least, wear clean clothes and make sure you
are clean before flying. It not only will make you more
comfortable but it is a common courtesy you can afford the other
passengers you will be traveling with that day. No one wants to be
trapped on a plane with a ripe passenger.
