Every time you book a flight you get a ticket to fly. These tickets are compromised of two pieces. The first is the reservation, this part simply shows the routing you are going and what seats you have. The second part is the electronic ticket or, e-ticket if you prefer. The e-ticket is the payment for your ticket. Now, sometimes you may run into problems where they say "Oh your e-ticket is missing" or has some other problem. They may even ask for paper tickets. This can be a time consuming problem but usually, it is an easy fix. Especially, if you make sure to bring your e-ticket number with you. It is not necessary but rather is a good practice when flying. You need both parts of your ticket to be present and match to fly. Sometimes if you change your flight time, connection city, or even airlines, then your e-ticket and reservation won't match and the agent will need to re-issue or re-validate the e-ticket. This just means that they need to make the two parts of your ticket match. Again, this usually is easy but can be time consuming. Well, there you have it, a little bit of airline vocabulary to help you fly like a pro. Travel Safe, Travel Smart . . . Get Somewhere! |
