Airline employees try to take care of their own. When an airline employee recognizes another one flying, they try to make sure they are well cared for. How can you take advantage of this? Buy airline merchandise such as shirts, caps, and luggage tags and wear them for your flight. In most cases the airline representatives will just make the assumption you are one of their own and try to help you out. "Oh look I got moved to a seat with no one by me. Score more elbow room." "Extra pillow? Alright." The luggage tag on your suitcase gives it better odds of being taken care of because no one wants to see the auditor or other important airline official's bag lost or damaged. It may not always work but it's better to play the odds. Mind you, I am not saying be openly deceptive and tell the gate agent you are a flight attendant, auditor, or pilot. In most cases they will figure you out and then, you will be dealing with consequences instead of benefits. Just silently go about your business and don't call special attention be drawn to you. I think you will be pleasantly surprised on how nicely this works for you. Travel Safe, Travel Smart . . . Get Somewhere! |
