This tip should be fairly common sense one would think however, many people seem to make this mistake on a constant basis. Just think when you are packing an item in your luggage, "If my bag gets delayed or lost, will not having this make a mess of things for me?" If it would be a problem, then do not pack it in your checked luggage. Top three things that people seem to check and should not are: Medication/ medical equipment, Car/ House keys, and ID. If your life depends on the medication or having a refill called in will be difficult then don't check your medication. Just check the size restrictions on liquids with TSA other than that most all medication should be fine for you to carry on. Medical equipment such as breathing machines for people with sleep apnea are allowed in addition to the number of carry on items you are allowed and really should not be checked. Airlines do not cover electronics under there damage policy. Keys, they are such a small thing but can pose a huge problem. Some people check these and then when they get home they find they are stuck until the bag comes in with the keys in it. I have seen people blow their top over this but really, they should be upset with themselves for being such a bonehead. Don't pack your keys unless, A. you want to spend some quality time getting to know your local airport. or, B. you want to take a cab and break into your own home. ID such as drivers license, passport, or military ID should be on your person without question. There really is no excuse for you if you pack this and you deserve to look like a dope when security sends you back down to the ticket counter to retrieve this from your luggage. Just don't pack things like this. Travel Safe, Travel Smart . . . Get Somewhere! |
