When you make your reservation get a seat assigned, even if it isn't a preferable seat like one of the dreaded middle seats. Why you may ask? Well, if the flight oversells (as they often do) then you have a seat and are not left on a list of people waiting to see if they will make it or not. It's possible you will be stuck with an undesirable seat but that is much better than being denied boarding for a flight you paid good money for. Once at the airport you can request to have your seat changed if need be or possibly wait and try to switch seats once on board, if any are open. Unsure of what seats to have assigned? Well, for a little extra room try for an exit row, bulkhead, or aisle seat. If motion sickness is an issue try for the middle of the plane over the wings. Want a view? Well a window seat is the way to go. Window seats are also ideal for those who want to sleep because you have a wall to rest your head on. Check the links section for a link to a cool site called Seat Guru. It can show you seat maps for different planes and ranks their best seats. Travel Safe, Travel Smart . . . Get Somewhere! |
