During flight you are not likely need a car seat for your child or children. In most cases the airline will have you gate check any car seats you try to bring on board and have you use the buckles on board for securing your child. This is perfectly okay and safe for your children. Air travel is much safer than vehicular travel and your precious little ones should be just fine. If airlines don’t require a car seat then why bring one? The answer is simple, You more than likely will be traveling around your location in a car or other motorized vehicle. When traveling with a car seat I strongly suggest checking it as an additional piece of luggage. Most airlines allow you to check car seats at no additional charge. Checking the car seat will allow you to fly with more ease. Let’s face it flying like any other activity with young children can become more challenging in a hurry. By not having to lug around the car seat through security checkpoints, gate areas, and connection cities your will make you flight experience much better. When checking your car seat bear in mind that it will be going down carousels and bag belts that can destroy you seat if the straps are left loose. A good idea is to bring a clear trash bag to put the car seat in and tie it shut inside. This will keep the straps contained and safe. Another bonus to this is it will keep the seat clean and dry. Aircraft bins are not always the cleanest places and rain can soak your child’s seat if unprotected. Traveling with small children can be a challenge use what you can to come off as a super parent.
