Looking for a way to escape the chaos of the busy terminals while you wait for a flight? Many of the major airlines operate a lounge room secluded from the huddled masses. These are typically reserved for their elite passengers who either rack up lots of miles with them or have purchased a premium class of service. Aside from being able to escape the crowds these lounges have complimentary drinks and snacks, space for work, comfortable chairs to relax in, internet access, televisions, and other amenities. Sounds great doesn't it? But, what if you are not one of the airlines' elite passengers? Well, some of these lounges will allow you to buy hourly, daily, monthly, and or yearly passes to use them. The fees can range from fifteen dollars to hundreds. There are programs out there like Priority Pass that sell the memberships, or you can check with your airline or even airport. LAX has a new lounge called the reLAX Lounge that offers similar amenities as as mentioned above starting at about $25.00 for three hours. These lounges are typically located only within the larger airports and those that are considered the hub airport for an airline. However, check with the local airport as sometimes they too may have one. If you can afford to pay the price or just feel the need to splurge a little bit, try one out and see how the elite travel.
